The active ingredient in Kybella is a synthetic deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in your body. This molecule assists your system to both breakdown and absorb dietary fat. When the synthetic molecule is injected into the fat beneath the chin, the fat cells are destroyed, resulting in a noticeable slimming and reduction of the fat under the chin. Multiple treatments may be necessary to get to your aesthetic goals. However, once fat cells are destroyed, fat can no longer accumulate in them.
